Farmers convicted of federal or state offense for
the possession of a controlled substance shall be ineligible, at the discretion
of the court, for any or all program benefits, as follows:up to 1 year upon the first
conviction up to 5 years after a second or subsequent
conviction.
If you are a USDA program recipient in a state which has no criminal penalty for small amounts of pot possession, this will not affect you. But, in Iowa, the same act would result in a loss of perhaps tens of thousands of dollars.
